To be a united community of Sri Lankan origin in Cairns, promoting multicultural awareness and positive community relations.

To celebrate the Sri Lankan cultural legacy, promoting the rich traditions and cultural celebrations of Sri Lankan Heritage into the broader multicultural community. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the social and cultural vibrancy of Cairns and Australia, fostering mutual respect and unity among all residents.

Education and Awareness

We promote education and awareness about Sri Lankan culture, history, and societal issues, facilitating understanding and appreciation within and beyond our community.

Ethical Conduct

We uphold honesty, integrity, and transparency in all our activities and interactions, ensuring that our actions reflect positively on our society and its members

Youth Empowerment

We support the development and empowerment of youth within our community, providing opportunities for leadership, growth, and cultural education.

As the President of the Sri Lankan Society Cairns, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to our website. The Sri Lankan Society is a vibrant and inclusive platform that brings together Sri Lankans to celebrate our rich cultural heritage, foster unity, and build meaningful connections

The Sri Lankan Society Cairns was established in 2013 with a small number of community members at the time. Our mission is to preserve and promote traditions, values, and the diversity of Sri Lanka while creating a supportive environment for our community here in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. Through cultural events, social gatherings, and community initiatives, we aim to strengthen bonds, celebrate our identity, and share our culture with the wider community within the Cairns Region and beyond
